Make labels that answer a question

Name a container for what someone would look for, such as picture-hanging supplies, rather than a vague label like miscellaneous. If several categories share a box, put a short list on the front.

Use readable lettering and place the label where it can be seen in the storage position. Keep essential product labels and instructions with their original items; a storage label should not replace them.

After a few weeks, change labels that caused confusion. The purpose is to help people find and return things, not to preserve a perfect-looking system that no one uses.
